'Final Fantasy VII' For PC 'Coming Soon' With New Features

I really don't feel like I even have to say it, but Final Fantasy VII is one of the most beloved titles in the franchise. If you're looking to get into it again (again), Square-Enix is on your side. That's right, Final Fantasy VII is coming back, this time on PC with a host of new, exclusive features.

An official website for the game recently surfaced, shedding light on these new features and the fact that the game will only be available through Square-Enix's official online store.

First of all, there are 36 new achievements that will let us brag to our online friends about awesome we are. Also new are Cloud Saves, letting us pick up where we left off on any PC that has an internet connection. Finally, there's the new Character Booster system that will essentially allow us to increase HP, MP and Gil to maximum if we choose. Whether or not this last new feature will be tied to some sort of micro-transaction system in unclear, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.

It looks like the game is going to be a simple re-release rather than an HD remake, but that will allow anyone with a 2Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM and a Direct X 9 compatible graphics card get in on the action.

No specific release has been announced, with the official website only stating that Final Fantasy VII for the PC is “Coming Soon.”
