New Marvel Game Reveal At San Diego Comic-Con?

Having developed Transformers: War for Cybertron, Dark of the Moon and Fall of Cybertron, High Moon Studios may be more recently known for games featuring giant robots of the Hasbro flavor. However, it looks like they’re teaming up with Marvel and Activision to announce a new super-powered title at San Diego Comic-Con.

Activision has published a lot of Marvel titles in the past, the most recent being The Amazing Spider-Man movie tie-in, but they don’t currently have anything new on the way. At least not that we know about, yet.

According to the Comic-Con schedule builder, the Marvel Video Games panel, which will highlight the Marvel Heroes MMO and Avengers: Battle for Earth, has a special announcement from Activision and High Moon in store for us. Here’s the official tease…

1:45-2:45 Marvel Video Games – Learn all about Gazillion’s Marvel Heroes MMO, Ubisoft’s Avengers: Battle for Earth and more future Marvel games-including an announcement from Activision and High Moon Studios that is sure to be a hit! Q&A will follow.

So what could it be? Well, we don’t have much info to work with here, but I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest/hope that it is not another X-Men game. The lackluster performance of the most recent attempt, X-Men Destiny, left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. It could be something as simple as another movie tie-in — Iron Man 3 or Thor 2 perhaps? There’s also the possibility of another installment of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Honestly, whatever it turns out to be we’re holding our breath for something fresh.

As expected, we’ll be at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 to bring you all the info when it hits. Until then, feel free to tear up the comments section with your own rampant speculation/hopes and dreams.
