If you’ve played Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer there’s a good chance you’re familiar with Nuketown. You may even be one of the many who’ve pegged this map as their favorite. After all, it is the most played Black Ops map ever. In fact, it became so popular that Treyarch created Nuketown 24/7, so the fun never had to end.
There were rumors that the famous Nuketown would be making a return in Call of Duty: Black Ops II and earlier today Activision confirmed that the rumors were in fact true. That’s right, “Nuketown 2025” will be a downloadable pre-order incentive.
“Multiplayer fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops LOVE Nuketown,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. “Flat out, Nuketown was a blast to play before, and we’re excited about the reimagined Nuketown 2025 in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. We can’t wait to play with everyone come this November.”
However, Nuketown 2025 won’t be exactly the same. This version will be a reimagined 1960’s take on the “Model Home of the Future” that still delivers the face-paced, up-close and personal action of the original. Thankfully the map will be available across all platforms when the game releases worldwide on November 13th, 2012 .
