Nintendemo: ‘Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance’ Demo Available Now

[Update: in the original version of this story, I mistakenly provided a July 3rd release date for Kingdom Hearts 3D. Its actual release date is July 31st.]

Heading into the weekend and don’t have enough games on your plate? You can check out the demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D

Demo and story details after the jump.

The demo gives you a first look a the series’ new creatures, the Dream Eaters as hero Sora (voiced by Haley Joel Osment) voyages to Traverse Town. Dream Eaters come in two flavors: Spirits, which are recruitable enemies, and Nightmares who will be your enemies throughout the game. Using Spirits, Sora can link together combo attacks. The demo will also include the new combat actions, “Flowmotion” and “Reality Shift.”

Here’s that story synopsis again for you:

King Mickey and Yen Sid prepare for an impending threat by putting Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mastery exam. Sora and Riku are sent into the Sleeping Worlds, where they will face new enemies and make new friends in worlds they’ve never stepped foot in. If they can successfully unlock seven Sleeping Keyholes and return to their world, they will retrieve a great power and be deemed true Keyblade Masters.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be available July 31st for the 3DS.
