SEGA's abrupt punting of the action brawler into Q1 2013 for the U.S. and Europe even has the game's devs scratching their heads.
That's the take from Platinum Games' Executive Director Atsushi Inaba, who took to Twitter yesterday to respond to the surprise move from a couple of weeks back, which saw the studios' fifth collaboration with SEGA being released during the same window as the July 5th Japanese release.
Apparently, it's not as a result of the game being unfinished or anything: according to Inaba, the Western releases are finished. "First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns. The delay is not due to further development on the game," he explained via Twitter posts. In the same series of posts, he says that Plantinum Games' hands are tied with regards to SEGA's Q1 2013 release plans, although he does thank fans for their support.
As of now, the Japanese release still appears to be on track for July 5th.
