Kitty Lambda Games’ adventure/RPG The Real Texas has just been released for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Described by the developer as “an action adventure game that plays like a mashup of Zelda: Link to the Past and Ultima VI,” The Real Texas is quite ambitious for an indie title. Following the exploits of a cowboy named Sam who falls into an inter-dimensional portal while on holiday in England, he awakens in an alternate dimension called Strange, Texas. The peculiar setting is described as “a Kafka-esque parody stuck halfway between modern-day America and olden-days, RPG England,” while the bizarro art style looks like a low budget, psychedelic variant of 3D Dot Game Heroes.
The Real Texas’ asking price is $14.95, but it will be $7.95 until “high noon” Sunday. To see it in action, check out this launch trailer.
