Abe’s New Odysee: “Oddworld” Getting a Reboot

First they were going to remake it. Now developer Oddworld Inhabitants is “rebooting” the PS1 classic.

That’s the line via the Oddworld Inhabitants Facebook page today.

While their team did have new screens to show off during E3 for their remake of Stranger’s Wrath and Munch’s Odyssee for the Vita and PS3, with Abe’s Odyssee, they’ve decided to start from scratch and, in their words, use “the original as a blueprint.” Their plan is to show Abe off later this year with a planned release for 2013.

Both Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath should be out of their development cycles this month, however neither has received a release date or pricing as of yet.
