Ratchet and Clank Go “Full Frontal” For Their 10th Anniversary

Even with an HD remake of some of the original Ratchet & Clank games on the way this summer, Insomniac is putting together a standalone downloadable release, Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, for later this year via PSN.

Today’s announcement promises to return to the series to its traditional third-person camera, while bringing the game back to the “classic feel, camera, controls and weapons, while innovating and giving you a whole new way to play.” This according to Insomniac’s CEO, Ted Price, who made the reveal today over on the PlayStation Blog.

Describing it as a “fun-sized Ratchet adventure,” Price nevertheless goes on to say that this downloadable title will include online features, presumably co-op, maybe a spot of competitive gameplay?

In the meantime, that Ratchet & Clank HD Collection hasn’t yet been dated, but Price promises an update soon along with a surprise for North American fans sometime in the next couple of weeks.
