In an interview on the Official PlaySatation Blogcast, Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray confirmed that a PS Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is on the way with an expected release as early as late June.
Gilray explained a few new control tweaks due to the lack of buttons on the Vita. You'll switch from first to third-person by double-tapping the front screen, and you'll perform punches and spin attacks by tapping the rear touch pad. You can also zoom the sniper scope in to varying degrees by pinching the screen, rather than stick to the two levels of zoom in the console version.
Development on the Vita version started only five weeks ago, but Gilray explained that the guy in charge of the transition "was surprised how quickly he managed to get things going.” It's expected to be in beta around E3.
Besides bringing us a Vita version of the Xbox classic, Just Add Water is still sprucing up their PS3 HD release of Stranger's Wrath from last year. Currently Move and stereoscopic 3D support are in QA and expected to be released by the end of the month.
Next up for Just Add Water is an HD release of the previous Oddworld title, Munch's Odyssey. They're currently about a month away from submitting it to QA, with a release expected on PS3 in June as well.
