007 Legends Trailer Uncovers October Release Date

By Jeffrey Matulef

Skyfall may sound like a hybrid of Skyrim and Firefall, but it's actually the upcoming James Bond flick. Releasing a game called Skyfall would almost guarantee that it would get overlooked in lieu of similar titled games, so instead the next Bond game is called 007 Legends. Because no videogames have "Legends" in the title, right?

Generic title aside, 007 Legends is actually based on excerpts from six Bond films, with Skyfall only accounting for one of them. This latest trailer for the movie tags on an additional peek at one of the game's chapters based on the 1979 Bond film, Moonraker (skip to 1:25 for the game trailer to begin). It also reveals 007 Legends' release date as October 16th.

007 Legends is being developed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by Eurocom, who made GoldenEye 007 for the Wii. Based on the trailer, it certainly looks more exciting than the space battles in the actual movie, Moonraker.
