“Fus do rah” with friends on the PC and Mac as Bethesda announce an Elder Scrolls MMO.
Helmed by MMO vet Matt Firor (Dark Age of Camelot, where he served as executive producer), The Elder Scrolls Online is Bethesda’s attempt to pave their way into the land that WoW has long since conquered. How will they handle dialog? What about the spectacular visual fidelity the series is known for? How will PvP work? Will it remain first-person or shift to third? With the Kinect recently gaining functionality for the PC, can we expect to be able to shout at our monitors?
Details are scarce in this morning’s announcement, but we should expect to hear more in June when the game is the cover story over at Game Informer.
Here’s a quote from Firor on the announcement:
“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
We will of course bring you more information as it becomes available.
