Publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced The Testament of Sherlock Holmes will be released this September on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. In the meantime, they've released five new screenshots.
Developer Frogwares has created numerous titles based on the world's greatest detective (sorry Batman) including Sherlock Holmes vs Arsene Lupin and Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper. While the latter made an appearance on the Xbox 360, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes will be the first game in the series developed specifically with consoles in mind.
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes will take place in 1898, where a series of evidence stacks up suggesting that Holmes may be a fraud, thief, and even murderer. Players will split between the roles of Holmes and Watson, whose faith in his friend is put to the test after Holmes' suspicious activity. This will be an original tale not tied to any particular book or movie. With all due respect to Robert Downey Jr, I'm glad that this is a more classic rendition of Holmes, rather than a ripped, shirtless brawler.
