Rock, Brazilian hip-hop, and a mild dose of electronica are the sounds of Max Payne 3.
The bulk of the soundtrack will be by HEALTH, an L.A. band described in the press release as a" blend of rock, powerful drums and electronic soundscapes [which] lends itself perfectly to the score for the game." This will mark the fourth studio album for the band, whose track "Tears" was featured in the recent Max Payne 3 TV spots. "Tears" will be available" as a single on May 15th via iTunes. Based on the sound of their "USA Boys" (video mildy NSFW), they seem like a curious fit for Max's world (but what do I know, I've only listened to the one song?).
Joining HEALTH is Brazilian hip-hop artist Emicida, who'll be providing a track on the album along with DJ mixes from Trouble & Bass. The latter will be available as a free download near the game's release.
The Max Payne 3 Soundtrack will be available on iTunes May 23rd. Max Payne 3 will be available on May 15th for the PS3 and 360, May 29th on the PC.
