Persona 4 Golden Coming to North America This Fall for PS Vita

By Jeffrey Matulef

Publisher Atlus has announced the highly acclaimed PS2 role-playing game, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is coming to the PS Vita this fall as Persona 4 Golden. This enhanced version will have remastered visuals and audio, including more voice-acting. Persona 4 Golden will also contain extra content like new events, personas, anime cutscenes (including a new intro with a new song from composer Shoji Meguro), a new character named Mary, and an “online dungeon rescue feature,” where players can gain assistance from others when they’re near death.

The original Persona 4 was a massive success, despite coming out for the PS2 in Dec, 2008, over three years after the Xbox 360 launched (and two years after the PS3 and Wii). The game is about a group of teenagers who jump inside people’s heads via haunted televisions. Think Psychonauts with more turn-based combat, less humor, and more sexual neurosis.

According to Atlus’ site, preorders will be available at Amazon as well as Gamestop in the US, and EB Games in Canada, though purchase links are not yet available.
