Capcom plans to take you for yet another ride with the iPhone and iPod Touch version of the classic fighting game next week.
For those keeping score at home, that's seven platforms including arcades that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has made its way onto in the nearly decade and a half since its initial release. Not bad for a game that, for a while, was running for upwards of $100 or more for a way out of print disc copy.
While details are scarce in this morning's announcement, the publisher promises that MvC2 will remain faithful to its console and arcade counterparts. The entire roster of characters from the original will be making their way over to the iPhone and iPod Touch along with the tag team action. Of course this isn't the first fighting game Capcom has brought over to Cupertino's mobile devices with Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter II Collection making their way over a couple of years back.
What's missing from this announcement is any information on an iPad release for the game.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be available on iOS on April 25th. We'll keep an eye out for pricing details and more information. You can check out a gallery of screens from the port below.
