Ubisoft releases the first gameplay trailer for the September release, featuring the islands "resident 'pharmacist.'"
In case you didn't know, in that context, resident pharmacist means local pusher-man. And what gun-crazy, bullet-riddled hellhole doesn't need a nut with black market drugs keeping the other killers on the island of Far Cry 3 peppy?
Here's the official bio on this new character:
Dr. Alec Earnhardt basks in an artificial glow of life generated by the pills he takes daily. He hails from Oxford and went sailing around the world after a personal tragedy. This is how he discovered Rook Island and all of the wonderful chemicals growing in the local flora. He set up a lab on the island and now makes his living selling drugs on the black market.
Four years after the last Far Cry, Ubisoft is letting you do a little more open world shooting and surviving. The last game was, as it goes with Ubisoft titles, very ambitious but some of the survival aspects and sameness of the combat encounters kept it from reaching the next level. But it was undoubtedly one of the best-looking games when it was released back in '08.
Far Cry 3 will be available September 4th on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
