This really isn't so much as news as the announcement of non-news on the part of Rockstar, who are cautioning fans not to expect too much new info about the next game—at least for the next couple of months as they presumably plug away at the upcoming fake-L.A.-set open world action game.
Read on for more non-news in this non-announcement.
The info comes as part of Rockstar's ongoing Asked and Answered updates, where the studio responds to fan questions about their titles.
Here's the full response from Rockstar's rep about the in-development title:
First of all, we’d like to again thank you and everyone out there for the amazing response to the debut Grand Theft Auto V trailer. We know that there are a ton of questions you all have about the game, including release date and lots else.
Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses - expect that we'll be talking much more about GTAV starting at some point in a few months’ time.
Please hang tight until then and thank you all for your patience and support!
As GameSpot rightly points out, E3 is right around the corner and might be the perfect time for new details about GTA V to start making themselves known. Right now, the presumption is that we'll see the next game, if not at the end of this year, then during the first half of the next.
