New Line of 'Mass Effect' Figures to Include 'Mass Effect 3' DLC

Get a toy Shepherd, maybe get a code to unlock a new gun for him (or her) in Mass Effect 3.

Toy maker Big Fish's line of Mass Effect figures will each include a random DLC code which will unlock content in the upcoming sequel. Anything from armor, weapons, to new characters could be opened up with the code, but there is a catch: they only work on the PC and Xbox 360 (likely because the the PC and 360 versions of the game may both utilize the same character count for DLC redemption codes). The DLC will only be accessible through these codes and won't be sold in-game.

Based on the pictures, the figures look pretty nice, although I'm curious about how much articulation and poseability they have, especially for the steep, nearly $20 USD asking price.

Here's how the figures and DLC are being described:

Bonus Downloadable Game Content: Each figure includes an in-pack card giving you access to downloadable in-game bonus content. Each figure contains different in-game content, exclusive to North American released product. Collect all 8 for the full experience!

The first series of toys are available now with the second series to follow in Q2 of this year. Mass Effect 3 will be available on March 6th for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
