It still looks like GSC Game World's nightmare vision is on the way, but it'll take a little longer to get here.
Via the developer's official Twitter handle, GSC Game World quietly explained that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 wouldn't be making it this year, but that development remained underway for the troubled RPG/shooter. Given the problems to date keeping the game alive, it's simply fortunate that the team is able to keep plugging away at the anticipated sequel.
Again, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was announced all the way back in 2010 with a targeted release for this year, but there's no indication that given these financial difficulties the game will be able to make the target. However, it looks like the ones still hanging on, like GSC spokesperson Oleg Yavorsky remain optimistic: "We are still in the process of seeking funding to back up the project... We are hopeful things turn out well eventually. The team really wants to see STALKER continue."
