‘The Darkness II’ Demo Pops Up Next Week

Hitting Xbox LIVE next week, PSN and Steam the week after for the United States.

Finally, for those of us who missed the numerous hands-on opportunities with the sequel to the supernatural horror shooter, The Darkness II is getting a demo starting next week on XBLA for Gold Members on January 17th. Then, on January 24th, Steam gets in on the act along with PSN users in the U.S.. Then, on the 25th European and Asian PSN users get their chance with the demo when it goes live in those reasons.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing the game in action beyond the trailers. The cel-shaded look was an interesting direction for a horror title and one of the big questions about the visuals will be how well the weight of the violence will carry with the slightly cartoonish style. And of course, actually getting to mess around with the “quad-shooting” mechanic and seeing how well mapped the controls are is the other thing on my to-do list.

The Darkness II will be available on February 7th for the Xbox, PS3, and PC.
