Community-created gameplay modes will be making their way will start making their way into the hoppers in the near future.
First off, congratulations Modern Warfare 3 for picking up another award for their multiplayer this year.
Second, while receiving Modern Warfare 3's statue for "Best Multiplayer Game" last night during X-Play's Best of 2011 awards show, Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist Robert Bowling announced that the shooter will be getting an update to its list of multiplayer modes based on some of the creations from the player community. According to Bowling, it looks like the update will happen sometime over the holidays, meaning you will get to see what some of your ambitious fellow gamers have been up to over the last few weeks.
No word on whether this will make its way to all platforms, whether or not this content will be free, or specific dates for the release here.
Here's the money quote from Bowling:
"Since we have such advanced private match options, we've been noticing a lot of user-created game modes, that in the coming weeks, we're going to be adding to the public playlists in multiplayer," Bowling said. "We're going to be adding some in for the holiday, brand new modes that the users created, that we adapted, made more polished, and are putting into the game," he added.
