'Fallout: New Vegas - Lonesome Road' DLC Dated, For Real This Time

After a bit of a stumble, it looks like the next piece of "Fallout: New Vegas" DLC is finally ready to be unleashed upon the world. "Lonesome Road" was initially meant to release in August, but it was recently delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. That delay has pushed the pack into its new release date of September 20.

We've known for some time that the pack would focus on Courier #6, a man named Ulysses. He was originally given the job to transport the Platinum casino chip to Mr. House, but turned it down, passing the job onto you, the nameless courier. Ulysses has been in the background of every DLC pack for "New Vegas" so far, hinted at with graffiti and stories from other travelers. In "Lonesome Road" we'll finally get to meet the man in the "hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms."

In addition to the "Lonesome Road" pack, Bethesda is also releasing two equipment packs for "New Vegas" on September 27. The first is the Couriers Stash ($1.99), which includes items that were originally exclusive to those who pre-ordered the game. This includes all the different pre-order packs from the various retailers.

The second is the Gun Runner's Arsenal, which "increases the range of unique weapons, weapon mods, ammo types and recipes waiting to be uncovered in the vast Mojave Wasteland." Not really sure what that means...whether new weapon and ammo types will just be randomly dropped throughout the Wasteland, or if it just increases what sorts of items vendors will sell. I've reached out to Bethesda for a clarification.

Once those three packs are out, it's hard to imagine there being any more "New Vegas" DLC. "Skyrim" is rearing its head in November, and I'm sure Bethesda doesn't want to cannibalize its own new release by putting out DLC for a year-old game. Here's hoping "Lonesome Road" ends things on a high note!
