Back in March, Square-Enix confirmed the August 23 release date for "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" along with an expanded Augmented Reality edition of the game which packs in a couple of bonus materials and a ton of extra content to be used in the game. Now there's word of an even more top shelf Collector's Edition, but you unfortunately won't be able to get it here in the United States.
Square-Enix revealed the news on its EU website. The Collector's Edition will be a "very limited" release available on the game's launch days in Australia and New Zealand on August 25 and Europe on August 26. There doesn't seem to be any pricing listed on the website, but expect it to be expensive. Not that we U.S. readers will have to worry about such things.
The Collector's Edition will come in a numbered box containing everything from the previously announced Augmented Reality edition and then some. "Then some" includes a "highly collectible" Adam Jensen (the game's protagonist) action figure designed by Play Arts Kai and a DVD containing a behind the scenes documentary, the game's soundtrack, a motion comic, animated storyboards and the original E3 trailer. There's also a ton of in-game content, which you can puzzle over right here:
* Explosive Mission Pack: An entirely new mission with a special cameo appearance from one of the original DEUS EX characters
* Exclusive in-game weapons: Automatic Unlocking Device, M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED), Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun, SERSR Longsword Whisperhead silenced sniper rifle
* 10,000 extra credits to buy or upgrade weapons
