‘Homefront’ Multiplayer Guide To Weapons, Perks And Unlocks

In addition to the story-driven solo campaign, “Homefront” also includes a deep, highly customizable multiplayer mode in which players can earn levels, unlock equipment, perks, weapons and all that other fun stuff that we’ve come to know and love since “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” perfected the idea of carrying MMO elements into your everyday first-person shooter.

To help you prepare for the coming conflict, we’ve put together this little guide running through the various guns, attachments, grenades, camouflage, purchaseable equipment and Infantry Abilities, which are synonymous with the Perks in “Call of Duty.”

If you bring nothing else out onto the battlefield with you, make sure it’s a loaded gun and bullets to refill it with. Whether you prefer to engage enemies at range with a sniper rifle, take them on up-close with an SMG or simply overwhelm them with an LMG’s hail of bullets, you’ll find it all right here.

M4 Rifle (lv1 to unlock)
The main assault rifle for the US Armed Forces. High rate-of-fire and low recoil make it a balanced choice for outdoor and close-quarters combat.

Underbarrel 12 gauge pump-action shotgun with an internal magazine.

Silencer (25 kills to unlock)
Reduces the amount of noise and flash produced by a weapon when fired. Users do not appear on the mini-map when firing a suppressed weapon.

Red Dot Sight (50 kills to unlock)
Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 variants available
Projects a red dot onto the sight picture for easier target acquisition.

Grenade Launcher (75 kills to unlock)
Single shot 40mm underbarrel grenade launcher that fires high-explosive rounds. Contact detonation requires minimum arming distance.

1.5x telescopic sight with non-illuminates mil-dot crosshair.

Nothing comes closer to that classic hot rod look like this clean, chrome finish.

Your enemies will fear the flash of your bling as much as the flash and the bang that come with it.

Viper (lv65 to unlock)
The viper is feared the world over for its quick strikes and deadly venom. Make the world fear you as well.

Perses (lv70 to unlock)
Perses was the Greek Titan god of destruction, honor him by using this aggressive pattern.

I <3 My Gun (lv75 to unlock)
You love this gun. Now show the rest of the world with this final, fabulous camo scheme.

SPECIAL EXPLOSIVE

EMP Grenade (lv1 to unlock)
Experimental electromagnetic pulse grenade developed by the U.S. Mlitary in 2017. Temporarily disables vehicles and drones.

Flashbang (lv1 to unlock)
Non-lethal stun grenade that disorients targets with a bright flash and loud noise.

C4 (lv24 to unlock)
Composition C plastic explosive with remote detonation trigger. Multiple bricks can be placed and detonated simultaneously.

WP Grenade (lv43 to unlock)
Produces a cloud of burning smoke that is lethal when inhaled.

Soldiers in the world of “Homefront” always have a backup plan. Wage your war on the battlefield to earn points, then spend those points on bigger and more powerful tools to wage war with. You’ll be able to spend on vehicles as well, but no soldier heads off to war without two purchase slots set for instant equipment purchases.

MQ50 MG Wolverine (lv1 to unlock)
A battery-powered, multi-terrain tracked drone. The assault variant is equipped with a machine gun. Vulnerable to EMP and melee damage.

RQ-10 Parrot (lv6 to unlock)
A battery-powered, remote-control quadricopter. Cameras relay targeting info to teammates. Vulnerable to EMP, small arms fire and anti-air rockets.

MQ60 AT Rhino (lv21 to unlock)
A battery-powered, multi-terrain tracked drone. The anti-tank variant has two modes of fire: unguided and lock-on. Vulnerable to EMP and melee damage.

AQ-11 Buzzard (lv28 to unlock)
A battery-operated, remote-control helicopter. Armed with two unguided rocket pods. Vulnerable to EMP, small arms fire and anti-air rockets.

Airstrikes

Hellfire (lv1 to unlock)
To UCAV-launched air-to-surface precision-guided missiles. Fly-by-wire allows post-launch guidance correction. Highly effective against vehicles.

White Phosphorous (lv17 to unlock)
Single-use UCAV-launched white phosphorous guided missile. Tissue burns and smoke inhalation cause instant death.

Cluster Bomb (lv44 to unlock)
A single-use, UCAV-launched guided cluster bomb. High-altitude dispersal creates a large area of effect. Effective against infantry and vehicles.

Rocket Launchers

RPG Launcher (lv1 to unlock)
Disposable dumbfire rocket-propelled grenade launcher. Comes equipped with high-expose warheads.

Proximity Launcher (lv31 to unlock)
Dumbfire rocket launcher that uses a sophisticated distance sensor to trigger detonation when in close proximity to an enemy vehicle.

Equipment

Flak Jacket (lv1 to unlock)
Body armor consisting of hard ceramic plates in a synthetic fiber vest. Can be purchased once per life.

Personal UAV Sweep (lv4 to unlock)
Calls in an unmanned aerial drone that highlights enemies on the mini-map.

Ammo Resupply (lv36 to unlock)
Emergency restock of ammunition, grenades and special explosives.

Thermal Goggles (lv49 to unlock)
Head-mounted low-light and thermal goggles. Toggle on/off after purchase. Can be purchased once per life.

Some call them Infantry Abilities, others call them Perks. Whatever the name you give them is, they make you better out on the battlefield. Which means we can all agreeing to calling them “necessary.”
