Earlier this week it was announced that "The Guild" creator/writer/star Felicia Day had written a "Dragon Age 2" spinoff web series for herself to star in, with BioWare's blessing. Today brings a teaser trailer for the six-episode tale, "Dragon Age: Redemption," along with the revelation of a summer release timeframe. Check out the trailer after the jump.
There is admittedly not a whole lot to see here, but how many of you are going to argue with getting to glimpse flashes of Day unleashing her badassery on the miscreants of Ferelden? The writer/star revealed in the series announcement that she'll play Tallis, an Elven assassin who must enlist the aid of some capable adventure-seekers in her hunt for a renegade mage. She also hinted that "the success or failure of [Tallis'] mission will have a big impact on her future and her freedom."
"Tallis is headstrong, she fights dirty, and she has a really sarcastic sense of humor," Day said of her character in the announcement. "I wanted to bring a modern sensibility to a fantasy character in a fantasy world."
The series is currently in post-production and on track for a summer release, though exactly when during the summer has not been revealed. I'd like to hazard a guess here and now that we'll see Tallis make her way into "Dragon Age 2" at some point as DLC. Maybe it will be a story pack following the events of "Redemption" or maybe it will be set before/after. But it seems like a no-brainer tie-in, doesn't it?
