Amid their quests to expand "FarmVille" onto iPads and combat privacy breach accusations this year, Zynga has also been putting together a new "-Ville" title for their list of credits, and it's taking their concept into a decidedly more urban setting.
"'CityVille' is where 'Monopoly' meets Main Street," the game's GM Sean Kelly said in a press release. "We are thrilled to bring the world our most social game to date — building on the best-of-breed gameplay that Zynga fine-tuned with 'FarmVille' and 'FrontierVille.' Instead of harvesting crops you're harvesting your neighborhood, instead of clearing your friend's frontier you're working on a friend's franchise. We hope players from around the world have as much fun playing 'CityVille' as we had building it."
The game will be introduced via a beta "in the coming weeks," according to the announcement. It's also going to be Zynga's first internation launch with English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish options available via Facebook.
If you have problems keeing your crops and cows in line, you may want to get some more Ville practice before you take on the responsibilities of people, commerce and buildings that "CityVille" will put you in charge of. If you're already a "FarmVille" player for life (or heaven forbid a daily multi-hour "FarmVille" and "FrontierVille" player), though, you're going to have an even bigger problem as you decide how your life is going to be able to accommodate your rapidly expanding occupation as an MMO real estate tycoon.
That begs the question, however; when are we going to get our first virtual real estate baron sim game?
