The "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" news for this week didn't stop with She-Hulk and Zero; Capcom kept their announcement momentum going and opened up about the game's special edition, the two downloadable fighters that will come with it, Shuma Gorath and Jill Valentine, and the release date when everything will land in stores, February 13, 2011.
For an extra ten bucks, the "MvC3: Fate of Two Worlds" Collector's Edition will throw in a metal case with exclusive art work, a 12-page prologue comic by writer Frank Tieri, Shuma and Jill and a one-month subscription to Marvel's digital comics service, according to an update on the Capcom Unity blog. The $69.99 bundle is already listed for pre-orders at GameStop, where they're also offering an exclusive set of 5" x 7" console decals.
Since one month of Marvel Digital Comics viewing will run you $9.99 anyway, this box of extras isn't a bad a value. Furthermore, Tieri's the guy who wrote Marvel's "X-Men: Apocalypse vs. Dracula" miniseries, so you can look forward to whatever he cranks out for this comic. The character downloads won't immediately be available, though; the announcement says to expect a 4-week break between launch day and Shuma Gorath day. The console decals will be good to go when you pick up the game, however, so don't worry about that.
In the meantime, let's hear it for a game shipping earlier than expected. "MvC3" had previously been tagged show up sometime before March 31, 2011, but Capcom's getting it out a whole month and a half before that mark now.
