'Ninja Gaiden 3' Will Try To Recapture The Series' Basic Strengths

Ninja Gaiden 3

Initially, Team Ninja made it sound though we were going to have to wait until 2011 to hear more about "Ninja Gaiden 3." A few more sketchy details have emerged, however, including the fact that a prototype of the game exists and TN wants to take the series back to its roots.

Addressing how "3" would compare to its two most recent predecessors, Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi told Famitsu (according to a report on Siliconera) that his developers would be tied down to old games but that they hope to go back to the more basic elements of the "Gaiden" games and use them to director where the new game goes.

Additionally, some more translation work and analysis over at Andriasang confirmed that there's something weird going on with the blood seen in the poster image that premiered earlier this year. That teaser image contained a few symbols and references to Ryu Hayabusa's past that could be meaningful, but "NG3" has remained a black box for the most part since.

Unfortunately, Hayashi also revealed that TN has had to cancel two projects, "Dead or Alive: Code Cronus" and "Project Progressive," but these things do happen. Hopefully they've picked up some tricks along the way and have some big reveals in store for 2011, though. One thing seems certain; we can expected to see a whole let more blood.
