'Dynasty Warriors 7' Coming To Japan In March 2011 In 3-D

Dynasty Warriors 7

"Dynasty Warriors 7" became official this year at Tokyo Game Show, and Tecmo Koei looks like they want to get it out onto the Japanese market fairly quickly. The new sequel hasn't been announced for North America or the Xbox 360 yet, but it will be playable in 3-D when Japan gets it for the PlayStation 3 in March 2011.

Three new characters, Sima Shi, Sima Zhao, and Bao Sanniang, will be added in "DW7," according to a report on Siliconera. Other gameplay tweaks and additions touted by Tecmo Koei included smoother transitions between battlefield and cutscenes and a new "chronicle mode" that will consist of stages unlocked in other modes. Fans of the series' attack controls may also appreciate the new possibility of switching weapons in mid-combo, which should add a little extra excitement to your confrontations.

Of course, none of this will be of much use to your for the time being unless you're in Japan. "DW7" is bound to make it over here eventually, though, even if it takes a few months. And when it does, you'll undoubtedly be able to pull out your chained, dual-weaponed combos on ridiculously large numbers of enemies in clustery groups for hours on end just like you would expect to. Only this time, you'll be slashing, hacking and pummeling clumps of bad dudes in 3-D.
