Europeans and Australians must have loved "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," "Warrior Within" and "The Two Thrones" a lot more than North America did, because as of right now it looks like they'll be getting the trilogy of games bundled together on a single Blu-ray disc while we're left to wonder what they would like like in remastered in HD with stereoscopic 3-D effects.
720p HD graphics with new textures, normal maps and anti-aliasing will be integrated into "Prince of Persia: Trilogy," according to a press release. You'll need to have a 3-D-ready television in order to take advantage of the 3-D bells and whistles, but Ubisoft says the one disc will contain more than 30 hours of gameplay.
The modernized pack of games will ship in November, and I think it sounds like a much better idea than the defunct modern PoP story that came to light last week. If you're in the U.S. or Canada reading this right now and wondering why you aren't getting the HD/3-D love that our overseas friends are, though, I don't what to tell you. Maybe you just should have bought more of these PoP games at retail when they first came out.
You should still be able to buy lots and lots of remastered Team Ico collections if you want to make Ubisoft jealous though.
Would you re-buy the PoP games in 3-D and HD? Are you surprised to see them in Europe but not the U.S.? Share your responses with us in the comment section below.
