"Fallout: New Vegas" will have cyborg dog companions, gambling achievements and an introduction narrated by Ron Perlman, but as with all games on the PC, it will also demand a few things from your machine. There's good news, too, because the minimum hardware specs listed shouldn't require anything too brand new or top-of-the-line.
"'Fallout: New Vegas' is officially finished and off to manufacturing," Bethesda Softworks community manager Nick Breckon wrote on the Bethesda Blog. That means they know exactly what the graphics are going to need, and this is what you'll want to have:
• OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP
• Processor: Dual Core 2.0 GHz processor
• Memory: 2 GB RAM, 10 GB hard drive space
• Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6 Series or ATI 1300XT series
Unsurprisingly, "New Vegas" will also be enhanced for multi-core processors, according to little chart Breckon posted. In other news, if you click on over to his entry you'll note that "New Vegas" designer Robert Lee got a much nicer birthday cake than you're likely to receive this year. In fact, my birthday's on Thursday, and I feel like calling the whole thing off now that I know "Fallout: New Vegas" cakes like his can exist in the real world. Anything less will just seem boring.
In the meantime, "New Vegas" will be out on October 19, so double check your cards and chips before then, and do what you need to.
