Zombies 'Risky' But Not Ruled Out For 'Call of Duty: Black Ops'

Call of Duty zombies

Zombies in Call of Duty made quite the impact when they first appeared for "World at War." They later returned on the iPhone, but they haven't been confirmed just yet for "Call of Duty: Black Ops." Treyarch head Mark Lamia loves talking up his upcoming title's co-op modes, but zombies aren't something he's willing to commit to just yet.

"Do you really want zombies in this game!?" Lamia responded when asked about the undead by Develop. "I cannot confirm or deny that we're putting them in."

Lamia did go on the record about the chance he believes Treyarch took by putting zombies into the CoD world in the first place, though.

"Here's what I can say; we're really appreciative and we're happy because adding them in before was a really risky thing to do," he explained. "The second thing I can say is that we do listen to the community."

Beyond that, he did re-emphasize co-op play, so if the dead do rise, those modes sounds like they'll be the place to watch.

"The third thing I can say is that we’re really looking forward to creating a really fun co-op experience," he said. "But I have to leave it at that."
