"Crysis 2" was previously expected to be in stores for the 2010 holiday season, but a new ad from EA indicates that plans have been sped up a bit to get the game out for "Autumn 2010" instead. The sequel, which EA hopes will become a "Halo-killer," will also be getting a beta release for early registrants.
The EA trade press ad bearing the Autumn announcement has been posted by MCV, which means you can expect to see this game on your local retailer's shelves by September or October.
As for the beta test, there isn't a specific date attached, and the Crysis community website where the info was reportedly released is down.
"Early registrations will be tracked, and our first wave of users will have a chance to win a key as and when the 'Crysis 2' beta takes place," the beta details read, according to Blue's News. "All you need to do is sign up early and one day in the near future you may be receiving a mail with an invite to the game."
You should watch out for an update on MyCrysis.com if you're interested in participating.
