Apple won’t let just anyone share the stage with Steve Jobs, so when they let Zynga CEO Mark Pincus get up to talk at the Worldwide Developers Conference presentation where Jobs announced the iPhone 4 today, you knew something important had to be in store. Assuming you consider “FarmVille” to be important, Pincus did not disappoint.
“Farming,” as it will be known on the iPhone, according to Pincus, will sync to users’ existing farms on Facebook. It will also allow for in-app purchases and Push notifications if your crops are in danger of dieing.
Given the attention that “FarmVille” has received from casual gamers across the globe, as well as Green Giant and 7-Eleven, it’s no surprise that they’d like to get the game onto the iPhone. If the game can raise $110,000 for Haiti, I’m sure it can generate a hefty revenue stream from Apple’s phones as well.
The new arm of the “FarmVille” agro-empire will launch at the end of June, as will many other exciting iPhone 4-related apps, you can be sure, so keep your tractors ready and your Facebook news feed filters within arms’ reach.
Do you plan on installing the new “FarmVille” app to your iPhone? Do you know someone who will? Share your reactions in the comment section below.
