‘Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time’ Orchestra Completes 6-Year Odyssey

Dedicated fans of what many consider to be the best video game of all time, “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,” have completed a six-year project. The objective: To remake the entire soundtrack from the game so that it sounds like it was being performed by real musicians. A lofty task, indeed.

But, mere days before 2010, the team has completed their work. You can listen to the whole project, for the price of free, at the ZREO homepage, and even download high quality MP3s of the album.

Granted it’s a bit of a legal quagmire, and Nintendo could probably shut this down with a drop of a green, pointy hat, but bravo to the dedicated crew for finally pulling this out off. And, since the internet never forgets, I’m sure the album isn’t going anywhere, even if steps are taken.

So go ahead and brighten up the last remaining days of 2009 with some old school Zelda shop music. It’ll warm even the darkest deku nut.
