Ubisoft wants to be represented among the first wave of Project Natal games, which could "Guitar Hero 6," "Fable 3" and unknown titles from Epic. The company has its eyes on a big piece of the pie though, as they've confirmed that about ten different motion-controlled games are currently in development.
"We have around ten games that will come for Natal during the first six months of the launch of Natal, and we expect between four to five games for the new controller [from] Sony," Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot announced during a call to investors, according to Gamasutra.
Of course, delays are possible, which Guillemot freely admits, so the Natal section of your local retailer's shelf may not be be quite as dominated by Ubisoft as this announcement implies.
"That's the picture at the moment; it can change in the next twelve months," he explained.
Nevertheless, Natal clearly occupies a lot of minds in Ubisoft's studios right now, and as a publisher their priorities for 2011 are already coming into focus. For as little as big-name third-party developers bought in to the Wii's motion controls early on, it will interesting to see what kind of treatment Natal and Sony's new system get.
Which Ubisoft franchises would you like to see get Natal controls in their next incarnations? Do you think Guillemot's announcement will mean good things for the control system? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
