At the top, an icon and title which represents your online persona in "Street Fighter 4." At the bottom, the callsign which represents your online persona in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." If you think they're pretty similar then you're probably not blind. Granted "Modern Warfare 2" does offer up a healthy number of other ways to customize your character, but in terms of what your foes see when they fight you, the callsign is your primary representation.
At an event in New York City today, I spoke with Seth Killian, Capcom's Community Manager, about the similarities.
Killian smirked, "You noticed that, huh?" He went on to say that there's no bad blood there, and that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Said Killian, smiling, "I'm sure Capcom will find ideas we like in other games and steal them as well."
Killian wouldn't confirm whether titles and icons would make a comeback in the spring 2010 release of "Super Street Fighter 4," but he did say they're looking at their options and that we'd know more in the coming months.
