'Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers' Gets A Winter Release Date For North America

With the "Final Fantasy XIII" shipping date now pushed safely into 2009, Square Enix has decided to work one more FF game into the winter season before the ball drops. For everyone who's made it through "My Life as a Darklord" and "Echoes of Time" this year, the folks at Enix have announced that they'll squeeze a third "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles" game by the end of 2009 in North America. "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers," which was already confirmed for a November 26 launch in Japan, now has its shelf date for the U.S. as well.

"The Crystal Bearers" will ship to North American retailers on December 26, according to a press release today, which says the Wii game will include more co-op and motion-activated gameplay.

The story takes place a thousand year after the first "Crystal Chronicles" and kicks off with the crystal bearer mercenary Layle, who comes face to face with a re-emerged villain from the series' history.

While it may not make it out to stores in time ride the whole the holiday season, the good news for the "Crystal Chronicles" faithful is that it will be there in time to scoop up any extra gift dollars or certificates that might be lying around and before 2010 sends everyone back to school.
