Venezuela Trying To Ban Violent Video Games

Like "Halo," "Grand Theft Auto" and "Killzone"? Well you should probably put that planned immigration to the embattled South American country that is Venezuela. Reuters is reporting that lawmakers are attempting to ban violent video games (and toys), thinking that it'll stem the tide of violence in the country.

The bill to ban violent video games and toys still needs to get passed through the National Assembly and be signed by President Hugo Chavez before it can become law, so there's still a ways to go, but it's definitely something to watch. And don't forget, Venezuela was the same country that had all those issues with "Mercenaries 2," what with it being set there and, well, kinda blowing up half of it.

I'm just spit-ballin' here, maybe keeping young people indoors, playing "Halo" or, I don't know, with Nerf guns, is a safer way for them to spend their time than wandering around bullet-ridden streets.
