Box Art Reviews: The End-of-the-World Edition

In this special edition of box art reviews, we've got games featuring the end of the world (nuclear fallout and tornadoes, anyone?) as well as games that have "world" or "planet" in the title (take a wild guess). Without further ado...

"Guitar Hero World Tour" (X360, PS3, PS2, Wii)

What the Box Tells Us: Four shadowy figures rock out... amidst the sunset?

Pros: Even though the title is "Guitar Hero," it appears that there are other instruments involved.

Cons: But what about the "World Tour" part? There's nothing worldly about this.

Love It or Leave It: Leave it.

"Fallout 3" (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

What the Box Tells Us: Some dude is wearing a scary mask and suit. To avoid the third Fallout, one assumes.

Pros: For fans of the franchise, they'll know that the previous two games also featured a mask on the cover. A familiar image for reassurance, perhaps?

Cons: To newcomers, it's just a dude in a suit and mask. It could be Big Daddy for all they know.

Love It or Leave It: Leave it.

"LittleBigPlanet" (PS3)

What the Box Tells Us: Piles of what look like stuffed animals with adorable faces clutter the box. There's also a round ball of stuff -- presumably a planet -- in the background.

Cons: People could think it's strictly a kids' game.

Pros: For old or young, it's irresistibly cute.

Love It or Leave It: Love it.

"Exodus From the Earth" (PC)

What the Box Tells Us: The sun is hot and it's burning everything down. Except for one man...

Pros: The bright orange will get your attention.

Cons: For an exodus, that guy sure doesn't seem to be in a hurry. And is he coming or going?

Love It or Leave It: Leave it.

"Tornado" (DS)

What the Box Tells Us: A cute, courageous cat stands in front of a tornado sucking in debris.

Pros: It's a simple cover that catches your eye; not too cluttered.

Cons: But is the cat named "Tornado"? Is the cat causing the tornado? Or will it be fighting tornadoes? I'm confused.

Love It or Leave It: Leave it.
