“GTA IV” Delay Confirms August As Most Painful Month For Gamers?

Of course I wanted to play “Grand Theft Auto IV” in just a couple of months. But I should have remembered: it’s August, the month that punishes gamers.

I was excited about “The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.” Then August happened. Delayed to the next year.

I was excited about “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.” Then August happened. Delayed to the next year.

I feel guilty for being interested in “Lair.” Because then August happened. Delayed to the next…. month. Okay, maybe it’s a smaller delay because “Lair” is a smaller game.

Sometimes it’s not August. Sometimes it’s almost-August (aka early September), which is what I learned when I got excited about “Perfect Dark.”

But somehow I can’t shake the feeling that it’s August that is usually the month that crushes me.

Am I blocking some of the pain and not remembering other major mid-summer postponements? Does anyone else have scars from August delays?
