Resistance: Futile, but Gorgeous

I'm not sure how or why I managed to pass up the first-person shooter Resistance: Fall of Man for the PlayStation 3, but it's better than a day at Disneyland if Jesus himself gave you a piggyback ride the entire time.

You're shooting aliens here, using vaguely futuristic technology in a 1950s setting. A sniper rifle has a slow time feature and can be used to kneecap an alien. Another gun can lock on to a target and its bullets will hit, even if the gun is pointed in the opposite direction. And 40 people can play online at once.

Sony showed off Resistance at its San Francisco gamer's day yesterday, and it was far and away the best thing there. It made me want to spend $599 to play it.
