Monsters of Idolatry (Or: Why do you fill me up, Buttercup?)

For those who've dreamed of belting out hot hits and then getting skewered by television's favorite troglodyte Simon Cowell, Konami will be releasing Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol.

The game features more than 40 songs, including Billy Joel's "Piano Man" and Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and features the likenesses of Cowell, the fat judge whose name I have entirely too much dignity to look up, and their female counterpart. After singing with a special microphone peripheral, players can look forward to being critically judged and ranked by these three.

Oh, and if you do well, you can unlock talentless Idol reject William Hung which, upon reflection, hardly seems like an incentive for playing at all.

Look for Idol on PlayStation 2 this winter.
