Acclaimed news

It is perhaps the apex of irony that a game company called Throwback Entertainment has chosen to pick up a host of game titles from crappy ex-game developer and publisher Acclaim. In a press release, Throwback announced it recently bought the rights to such beloved titles as Vexx, Legends of Wrestling, Iggy's Wrecking Balls, and Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance. Among others.

The press release can be read here, and the full title list has been posted on the company's Web site.

From the entry on Acclaim: "Acclaim Entertainment has been considered by many video game enthusiasts as one of the worst videogame developers in the world, despite being the publisher or producer of some very successful franchises such as the Mortal Kombat and Burnout series."
