It seem so long ago that it’s hard to remember, but the careers of Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron pretty much owe everything to each other. Without the first two “Terminator” films, neither the director nor the star would likely have as much success as they’ve had.
And that’s completely ignoring “True Lies.”
So when is the next collaboration going to happen? With Schwarzenegger just amping up his comeback and Cameron settling into an all-“Avatar” vegetative state, will the two every meet again? MTV News’ Josh Horowitz spoke with Schwarzenegger about his future with Cameron.

While it’s not “Terminator 5,” Schwarzenegger and Cameron are teaming up in the near future, on an environmental series for Showtime with producer Jerry Weintraub.
“There are many different ways of cooperating and collaborating. Jim and I, for instance, are doing a Showtime series on the environment, a 12-parter with Jerry Weintraub,” Schwarzenegger said. “We’re, all three, the producers. In order to really let the world know what to do to improve our environment and go in the right direction for a sustainable future, we’re working on that.”
On the movie side of things, “Avatar” will occupy Cameron’s attention for the foreseeable future, so who knows? “Movie-wise, he’s tied up with his next two movies, but hopefully, there’s something down the line when he’s finished with that,” Schwarzenegger said. “I always look forward to working with him because Cameron is a very talented director. The great thing is there are so many new directors who are talented and great visionaries. [“Last Stand” director] Kim Jee-woon is one of them.”
