Hemsworths, Assemble!: Chris Eying Possible Liam Team-Up

Chris Hemsworth was “Thor,” the “Huntsman” and an ill-fated visitor to a “Cabin in the Woods” this year, but he’s not done yet. The actor is busy lining up even more projects to tackle next, and he’s honing in on two in particular.

The Film Stage is reporting that Hemsworth is considering Stephen Gaghan’s “Candy Shop” and a Jeremy Weintraub-produced Steve McQueen biopic (not to be confused with the one Jeremy Renner is working on). Interestingly enough, the biopic, currently titled “Triumph AKA 40 Summers Ago,” also has his little brother Liam Hemsworth attached.

First up, “Candy Shop.” Everyone from Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz to Denzel Washington and Christian Bale have expressed interest in the movie, so Hemsworth is joining a line of prestigious names. The movie is said to follow an ”elite, highly trained deep-cover operative who loses everything, ultimately disappearing into Brooklyn, where he must start again. He washes up as a beat cop, only to discover the global organization he was dedicated to fighting is also operating in his new backyard.” It has no set start date, but Film Stage speculates we’ll find out more information soon as the ensemble cast comes together.

As for the McQueen flick, that movie is supposed to tell the story of the beloved American actor and “his relationship to his stunt double, Bud Elkins.” The first role is a bit meatier, but it will be interesting to see which of these films — if either — Hemsworth settles down with.
