'Lone Ranger' Poster Focuses More On Johnny Depp's Tonto

Lone Ranger

We're only hours away from the premiere of "The Lone Ranger" trailer, and Disney decided to hype us for that big reveal by releasing an awesome new poster for the upcoming Western.

Touting the tagline "Never take off the mask," the poster doesn't show us the titular Lone Ranger. That's pretty telling, considering we have long known that the movie is actually going to be told from the point of view of the Lone Ranger's companion, Tonto. Still, this is an ample tease for a movie we've been waiting years to see.

In addition to the poster, Disney has released a handful of new images courtesy of MSN. Those clearly do focus on Tonto as he partners up with The Lone Ranger. Whenever we see these pictures of Johnny Depp in action as The Lone Ranger's sidekick, all we can wonder is what kind of hair product he uses to have that crow headdress stay in place during all these chase sequences.

These images make us wonder just how much of "The Lone Ranger's" trailer actually will focus on its title character. Hopefully there will be a healthy mix of the Ranger and Tonto, since Armie Hammer is certainly worthy of going toe-to-toe with Depp.

"The Lone Ranger" stars Hammer, Depp, Tom Wilkinson, Helena Bonham Carter and William Fichtner. Directed by Gore Verbinski, it's due in theaters on July 3, 2013.
