Jessica Biel will do anything to save her son in "The Tall Man." The upcoming thriller from "Martyrs" director Pascal Laugier is due out on VOD tomorrow before hitting theaters in a limited release on August 31, and MTV News has an exclusive clip from the project to tease you for its impending premiere.
Biel stars as a mother who lives in town where children are going missing, though she doesn't believe in the myth of the Tall Man kidnapper until her own son disappears.
Between her work on "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Cellular" and this film, Biel has definitely mastered her look of terror. Tensions are running high in this clip, which shows Biel's character Julia Denning coming face-to-face with the titular Tall Man.
In addition, this movie stars "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's" Jodelle Ferland, who also has quite a history in horror. She's been terrifying us for years before she introduced the world to the short second life of Bree Tanner, having starred in in the 2006 "Silent Hill" film, "Case 39" and "The Cabin in the Woods." In "The Tall Man," Ferland plays a child who not only believes in the Tall Man but has seen him.
Here's the official synopsis for the movie (courtesy of Bloody Disgusting):
"In an isolated, slowly dying mining town, children are vanishing without a trace – abducted, the townsfolk whisper, by a mysterious entity known locally as 'The Tall Man.' Town nurse Julia Denning (Jessica Biel) seems skeptical…until her young David disappears in the middle of night. Frantic to rescue the boy, Julia lives every parent’s darkest nightmare in this twisting, shock-around-each-corner thriller."
