‘Descendants’ Co-Writers Jim Rash And Nat Faxon: Where You Know Them From

by Joel Hanek

In a meme that will surely rival The Bronx Cobra in lasting relevancy, Angelina Jolie’s right leg became joke fodder for the Internet after Best Adapted Screenplay award winners Jim Rash and Nat Faxon mimicked Angie’s lunging pose after accepting their awards.

If you thought those guys with Alexander Payne that came on stage paying tribute/playfully mocking Angelina look familiar, that’s because you’ve probably seen them in their acting roles. Former Groundlings, Faxon and Rash have done a lot of comedy roles over the years – and trust me, when I say a lot, I mean a lot.

No stranger to the cult following of “Community,” Jim Rash is a series regular of the NBC sitcom as Principal Dean Pelton. To be fair, you may have not recognized him at first because he was wearing a tux as opposed to his usual entrances in drag.

Nat Faxon may not be a marquee name for movies, but if you check out the guy’s IMDB page you won’t have to scroll down far before you recognize you’ve seen his face at least a half a dozen times: “Super Troopers,” “Beerfest” and more (I’m partial to his scenes in “Orange County” myself). In addition to that, Faxon has done his handful of commercial work. For example, take his role as the alcoholic philistine in this Bud Light ad.

There you have it: the Faxon/Rash mystery solved! Thank you for joining us for another episode of, “Hey, look, those guys!”
