In some of the strangest and most exciting news of the day, Variety is reporting that Gael Garcia Bernal will be playing the masked hero Zorro in Fox's upcoming reboot of the franchise, "Zorro Reborn." Details are scarce on the project, but the outlet is pegging the movie as a "futuristic reboot" that stars Bernal as "the Spanish swordsman as a masked vigilante bent on revenge." Glenn Gers and Lee Shipman & Brian McGreevy wrote the script.
Oprah Winfrey May Return To Acting In New Lee Daniels Project
Oprah Winfrey was such a big supporter of Lee Daniels' movie "Precious" that she might actually be landing a part in his newest project. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that she is considering a role in his new film, "The Butler." She would play the wife of the film's titular White House butler, Eugene Allen.
"300: Battle Of Artemisia" Gets Its Co-Lead Actor
"Snow White and the Huntsman" actor Jamie Blackley has landed the coveted role of Calisto in the upcoming flick "300: Battle of Artemisia," according to Deadline. He'll be joining Sullivan Stapleton as the co-lead in the Noam Murro flick. Calisto is a 16-year-old inspired by his soldier father to lead a band of soldiers to war.
"Big Love" Star Joins New "Percy Jackson" Movie
The casting for "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters" is slowly coming together. Variety has learned that "Big Love's" Douglas Smith is the latest actor to enter the film. He'll join returning stars Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario. The flick is set to hit theaters on March 26, 2013.
Sienna Miller And Brendan Fraser Enter "A Case Of You"
"A Case of You" just got two more big additions to an already impressive cast. Sienna Miller and Brendan Fraser are the latest to join the film that Justin Long co-wrote, will produce and will star in, according to Variety. They'll join a cast including Peter Dinklage, Evan Rachel Wood, Busy Phillips and Keir O'Connell.
Anna Friel And Two More Join "King Of Soho"
Three new actors have joined Steve Coogan in director Michael Winterbottom's upcoming dramedy "King of Soho." Variety is reporting that Anna Friel, Tamsin Egerton and Imogen Poots have all taken roles in the film. This is Coogan and Winterbottom's first time working together since "The Trip."
